My Stole

The Path of Principles Ritual Stole is presented to newly initiated members during the 4th Degree of Initiation. This garment is only to be worn by initiated members of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. Initiated members may wear the stole during the authorized ritual of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity and with their cap and gown during university graduation, if allowed by their institution. During ritual, members must wear a shirt and tie, a suit or tuxedo is also appropriate. All members are encouraged to purchase a Ritual Stole, but it is not required. At a minimum, each Chapter should own a Ritual Stole for every member with a speaking role during ritual, as well as enough stoles to ensure each new member has one to use for the 4th Degree.

If desired members may have their surname, Greek Letter designation of their Chapter and two-digit class year professionally embroidered on their Path of Principles Ritual Stole as shown below. Color-coded Chevron patches may be affixed two fingers above the Coat of Arms of the Fraternity beginning with Pilot Level. Each additional level chevron is placed above the previous level. Chevrons indicate a Brother's Path of Principles level advancement. Members must complete the Path of Principles Level Advancement form and submit it to the Headquarters to be eligible to purchase Chevrons. Chevrons are only designated for every other level. For example; Brother's may purchase the azure blue Chevron for Pilot Level, but no Chevron is available for Pilot Advanced, another Chevron is available for Guide Level, etc.

Chevron patches may be ironed on the Ritual Stole with great care. When ironing on patches remove the plastic backing from the Chevron, place the Chevron in the appropriate location on the Ritual Stole, cover the Ritual Stole with a cotton t-shirt to avoid scorching the satin and apply heat for around 30 seconds. For permanent placement of the Chevrons, it is recommended to sew the patch on. To remove wrinkles from your Ritual Stole only apply the iron to the backside of the Ritual Stole to avoid scorching the satin. Hand-held steamers are excellent tools for removing wrinkles. The Ritual Stole is dry clean only. Please see below for the correct placement and order of the Chevrons from bottom to top.
